The flagship international gathering of the Biochar Initiative of Nigeria — four days of scientific, policy and enterprise sessions on biochar for soil health, regenerative agriculture, sustainable food security, climate change mitigation, clean environment and energy production.
Hosted by BIN, the Amina Mohammed Centre for Climate Change (AM3C) and FARA at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, it brings together researchers, federal and state government, development partners, agribusiness and student delegates to accelerate biochar adoption in Nigeria and across Africa. This is the fifth national biochar conference since 2015 and the first held outside the South-West since 2018; with CORAF and CCARDESA joining online, it runs as a hybrid event.

A High-Level Policy and Investment Panel brings together federal and state government, development partners and investors to translate the conference’s scientific findings into commitments. Its output is the Keffi 2026 Biochar Policy Communiqué.
