What is the Keffi 2026 International Biochar Conference?

It is the flagship international gathering of the Biochar Initiative of Nigeria — four days of scientific, policy and enterprise sessions on biochar technology for soil health, regenerative agriculture, food security, climate change mitigation, clean environment and energy production. It runs alongside the BIN Annual General Meeting.

The conference brings together researchers, federal and state government, development partners, agribusiness, private sector and student delegates to accelerate biochar adoption in Nigeria and across Africa.

When and where is it?

21–24 September 2026, at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria.

Who is organising it?

The conference is organised by the Biochar Initiative of Nigeria (BIN) in collaboration with the Amina Mohammed Centre for Climate Change (AM3C), Nasarawa State University, Keffi, with the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) as co-organiser. The Convener is the President of the Biochar Initiative of Nigeria, and the Chief Host is Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Vice-Chancellor of NSUK.
